News and blog
We hope you are staying warm and dry with this late April weather. The Spring Share starts next Thursday, May 4th. Boxes will be delivered after lunch and will include some great produce. We will have arugula, asparagus, rhubarb, herb plants, microgreens, pea shoots, possibly head lettuce and more. As the weather warms next week we will see some new items as well. We will send out another email next Wednesday night with delivery details such as approximate times and our first Spring newsletter with news from the farm, pictures, recipe link and storage tips. If you have any questions before then, please send them our way so we can get them answered before the first box goes out. We do have new site replacing the 4&20 pickup location but it is just a couple blocks away. Those members will get an email this weekend about the change.
Thanks again for supporting us and choosing us to be your farmers! We love it and we have some great plans for the future at Sprouting Acres and we can't wait to tell you all about them.
Have a great last week of April!
Andy and the Sprouting Acres Crew
We are approaching the beginning of the growing season and I wanted to touch base with everyone. You will be getting an email in the next couple days with reminders of start dates for Spring Shares. Main season shares are still 1 1/2 months away but you will start seeing reminders for those in the next couple weeks.
I also wanted to let you all know that I had email trouble over the last few weeks and all emails that I assumed were sent were actually just sitting in a draft folder. Apparently it was gmail's fault. It is now fixed and I resent all emails that were in that draft folder. If you had a question that was not responded to please send it again so we can get it answered.
Thanks for your patience in this matter.
Andy Watson/Sprouting Acres
Happy New Year!!
We hope you had a great holiday and hopefully got to take a little break from work and enjoy time with friends and family. We are getting all our seed orders in, cleaning the greenhouse, prepping the hoophouse ground, thinking about the future at Sprouting Acres and hoping you want to be a part of it!
We never sent out an annual survey for 2016 because we thought we would just ask you a couple questions rather than have you spend time filling out a survey(which can be boring we know). We want to hear from you, good or bad, and we want to know what we can do to be a better farm. We only want to know two things from you. What do you like about Sprouting Acres and what would you like to see us do, either this year or down the road. Things we are planning on doing this year are
1. building a roadside stand on our top driveway at the to help let people know where we are and what we do and to give another point of access to the community.
2. Have at least 1 but hopefully two Dinner on the Farm Nights. These may include a night walk with wine and appetizers, a pizza night, or a kids bike ride event (the farm paths are a blast when on a bike and small :)
3. Building a weather machine over the farm:) not really but maybe someday.
So, there you go. We have opened up the CSA season online and have added a new discount this year. There is the early bird signup for the next couple of months like last year and we added a returning member signup as well. Save $10 if you were a member last season or even in seasons past and are still in the system.
One more note about signup. We need a payment within 2 weeks of signing up to hold your spot this season. If you sign up and a 1/3 payment is not made within those two weeks, your membership will be disabled until a payment is made. You can pay online(a fee will be added), or by check in installments.
We are adding some new varieties this year to the mix and hope you will like what we have in store for you. We also have market shares available. Market shares allow you to visit us at the farmers' markets so you can pick out what you want each week or whenever you need more food. This can be on its own or in addition to a weekly or every other week pickup.
We will send out a winter newsletter by the end of January with some updates and reminders. Please don't hesitate to email or call Andy if you have any questions at all.
Here is his contact info email@example.com. 608-469-2319
We look forward to seeing your name back on our list again this year and for another great season.
Thanks for making it all the way to the end of the CSA! We know it can be a lot of work but think of how many more vegetables you ate this year! We had a great season and we hope to replicate it next year with some new veggies and new ideas. Look for an email from us about storage shares in a couple weeks as well as a survey link that we would love to have you fill out for us. Thanks again for a great year and we hope to hear from you this winter.

Also remember that since it is the 20th box, it is an even week for EOW shares. EOW sites this week will be Hermina, 4 & 20, Dorchester, Vilas, Fen Oak, Regent and Monona.
Hello and welcome to week 19 of your CSA with Sprouting Acres. This is the last week for ODD Every Other Week members. Thanks so much for your support this season and we hope you enjoy you last box. For the rest of you, next week is your final week. We will have more news on storage/falls shares in the near future so stay tuned.
Have a great weekend and enjoy your veggies.
