Welcome to the first week of the 2018 CSA Spring Season with us, Sprouting Acres. We want to go over a couple of things before you get your first box tomorrow. Remember to read the newsletter. It's got the word "news" in it for a reason! We want to make sure you see what we are up to, if there are any events happening at the farm, recipe links to try, and some pics of farm activities this week.

Here is the newsletter link for this week.

Next, please remember not to keep the black tote that the veggies come in. Please bring a bag or two, a cooler, a box, a helper, whatever you want to transfer your food home. We need the totes each week so they must stay at the sites for pickup.

Please respect the pickup site homeowners. Don't roll in at 11 at night and wake everyone up. If you are unsure about the times they are on the second page of the signup form at the website. They are approximate times. We will be dealing with a lot of construction this year in our area and Madison too so keep that in mind if we are not exactly on time.

If you are unsure where you said you would pickup up your box, you can check your status on the website or send Andy an email and he can send you a status email.

If you have not  paid for your spring share yet, please do. Most of our costs for the year come in the first 5 months of the year.

Don't forget to check off your name at the pickup sites. It's there for a reason. If you do not check off your name and we are trying to figure out who hasn't picked up, it's tricky and takes time calling everyone that didn't cross off their name. There is a little box to the left of your names, put a big X in it please.

If you cannot get to your share in a timely manner please email or call Andy (608-469-2319) to let him know.

Last thing, if you are new this year or your site changed here are the box locations at the sites.

Cambridge, The Living Well Studio-on the ramp next to the evergreen bushes in the shade.

Stoughton 116 North Morris St., on the front porch. You can pet the black cat, she loves it.

2329 East Johnson St., on the front sidewalk by the bushes.

1326 Vilas Ave., On the front screened in porch

5110 Regent Street, Under the tree to the left of the driveway.

MMSD Doyle Building, in the lounge near. Newly remodeled I hear so exact location will be determined when Andy gets there tomorrow.

667 Stonebriar Lane, Oregon, on the front porch

Here is the newsletter link for this week. Have a great weekend!!!!!!

Hello and welcome to winter!

Did I say winter? I meant winter. Darn this weather. This is part of farming that we have absolutely no control over. What we do have control over is planning and boy are we glad we didn't put out onion and broccoli transplants last week when we had the chance. We do have radish, spinach and sugar snap pea seed in the ground that should be nice and watered after the snow melts. This is the coldest April in a long time. We are about to plant our last batch of summer crops in the greenhouse and we will be planting out cold hearty crops in a week or so. The hoophouses are almost full and our farm kitchen building is moving right along.

The Spring Shares start in just under three weeks and summer shares start the first or second week of June. We will be sending out another email in the next two weeks with the Every Other Week box delivery schedule. We do still have Spring Shares available if you would like to add another four weeks to your deliveries.

We are happy to announce that we are almost done with hanging drywall in the new farm kitchen building. We have been taking advantage of the crumby weather by working in the new building. We will be throwing a make-up farm party for members in early summer since last fall was such a mess at the farm. Stay tuned for that party date.

We just finished our video collage and would love for you to see all that we have done over the last 6+ months. We couldn't have done it without support from family and friends and you members encouraging us along the way. We hope to have it up and operational by summer/fall with lots of fun events, dinners, classes, and more.

Thanks for all your support and here is the video link.

Enjoy!
