Weekly Updates

September 2008

The last stretch of hot weather and the beginning days of fall just around the corner mean that the farm is once again undergoes transformation. We have harvested all or most of the garlic, onions and potatoes. The tomatoes are in full production and we are happy to report that we are having a wonderful year for melons. We have had to use our irrigation system more than usual which has helped our melons stay healthy. The last of the bouquets went out this week for flower shares. The 12 week flower share comes to end in part because the flowers begin to fade out but mostly because Kelly returns to teaching in September. Andy continues to work full time at the farm this fall because Wade has started day care. We know that having the extra time with help Andy keep the farm running well. Reminder that our Shindig at the Farm is Sunday, Sept. 6th from noon to 3pm. We hope to see you all there!
